The Big Dog Is Stunning!
I'm not really one to post videos about robots (nerdy much? HAH!), but I really couldn't resist this time. The above video showcases a super advanced robot (Big Dog), which is able to carry a maximum of 350 pounds and walk on many different terrains including ice. It's really quite impressive!
Give this video a chance! Even if robotics sound boring to you, I think this video might surprise you with what modern technology can accomplish! FYI, the most impressive stuff happens about mid-video. Also, you might want to turn the volume down, as the buzzing sounds get annoying.

OLED: The Future Of Electronics
Speaking as someone who reads daily gadget blogs, OLED(organic light emitting diode) technology has completely slipped passed my radar until today. Basically with the help of OLED technology we are able to put a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio in a TV that is no more than 5mm thick! But the uses go way beyond that. OLED uses a very small amount of electricity to be powered and is paper thin. Meaning, theoretically you can have a reusable electronic newspaper that displays updated headlines, images and even video. Roll it back up like a newspaper and put it in your rucksack. Or perhaps your clothes could be electronic or your entire ceiling can be a low power consuming light bulb. The ideas are endless and we are just beginning to see OLED technology in the marketplace with the above picture being the first OLED TV sold to the public, starting December 1st in Japan only. Personally, the idea of a TV that can display a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio gets me all giddy and makes my inner nerd scream with delight! Must....rob.....bank...
