SMG Multiplayer Is The Best Multiplayer In Years

When you think of Mario, chances are, multi-player never comes to mind. Mario has always been a one player experience and if you claim otherwise, you are either thinking of alternating play style or a Mario game that was not a traditional Mario. A.K.A. Mario Kart, Mario Arcade games, Sports etc.

In a recent interview with Miyamoto, he was quoted as saying that he had never been able to accomplish true multi-player in a Mario game, but with Galaxy he feels he has finally achieved it. I couldn't agree more. But at first glance and in theory the idea of a multi-player Mario game makes no sense...Until the Wii.

The Wii's control scheme and the game play design of Galaxy mixes perfectly making the two player experience near perfect while not alienating the way a Mario game should be played. I would go as far as to say that just like Mario 64, Galaxy reinvents the way "jumping platformers" should be played.

I Just Beat Mario Galaxy

I just finished the game! There are a total of 120 stars in the game, you only need 60 of them to finish the game. I got 63 stars then stopped. I'm going to wait for the game to come out then I will sit down in my love sac, turn on the plasma, and enjoy Mario Galaxy the way it should have been played. On a scale from 1 -10, 10 being the best possible score. I would give this game a 9.5. And yes, I am completely disgusted with myself!

An Apology Letter

Dear Tim,
I know you are really excited for Mario Galaxy and I know that you need to play it asap but, you need to not stand in the lobby of an EB Games for hours upon hours doing so. You have homework to do, videos to make, and quite frankly you smell like a sweaty nerd by the end of the day! The fact that you got 47 stars in one day is completely unacceptable and it makes me sad. Sadness like the sound of the waves crashing down upon your dull dark heart. "Mama Mia! I love spaghetti!"

Sincerely
-Your Local Wii Kiosk

I Just Played Mario Galaxy

I just played Mario Galaxy at my local EB Games and words can not express my excitement towards this game. I was literally jumping up and down with joy when I found out I could play it. After playing the game for about 45 minutes what struck me as most interesting is how the game is simplified. There is no punching or kicking in the game so if you were to run up and grab an object the game instead, automatically grabs the item for you. It was incredibly awkward playing a Mario game with a controller that has been cut in half but by the time I was done playing I felt confident with the control scheme. I have one gripe thus far, the twirling attack is kind of stupid. I would rather punch or kick and enemy than twirl at them. But who knows, maybe the twirling will grow on me. Best day ever? Close to it.

Holy Crap Nintendo

Last night in Japan Nintendo held a press conference and it was
amazing! However even though it was amazing, there was no mention of
mario galaxy. Here's to hoping the press conference today will have
some mention of Galaxy.....like maybe a demo. Hey Nintendo, a demo
would be nice!
